  • Norwegian Snow Crab

The snow crab (Chionoecetes opilio) is a new exotic addition to King Crab. Snow Crab is named after the cold climate it lives in the most Northern part of the Norway sea. Snow Crab can also be found in the sea around Canada and Greenland. The meat offers a fresh, sweet taste and is stringy and juicy. The Snow Crab can be served as it is bread and a squeeze of lemon, or as an ingredient in a warm dish.

  • Sustainable fishing

Like the King Crab, the Snow Crab is a new species in the Barents Sea. The king crab was deliberately put out in the Barents Sea by Russian scientists in the 1960’ies, but the spread of the Snow Crab is more uncertain - possibly by ballast water or by natural migration. The Snow Crab is on the green list of WWF, which means that they recommend you to eat as much as you like.
